Sarah Utterback was born on January 12, 1982 in New Hampton, Iowa. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 2000.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and graduated in 2003 from Steppenwolf School in Chicago.

Sarah moved to Los Angeles in 2004 to pursue a career in acting. She started out being in many theater productions including Mud, North of Providence, Il Bidone, Ladybird, Hamlet, BASH, Taken in Marriage, Full Circle, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and Macbeth.

She was also in theater productions for IAMA Theater Company which she is a co-founder of. The IAMA productions she has been in are Surfer Girl and The Accidental Blonde.

Sarah’s first TV role came in 2005 as Nurse Olivia Harper in Grey’s Anatomy. Even when filming Grey’s Anatomy she continued to wait restaurant tables to help pay her bills.

Sarah also had various TV roles in Medium, Cold Case, Ghost Whisperer, and NCIS. She was also in the short films My First Time Driving and Path Lights.

In 2011-2012 Sarah guest starred in the webseries Reception until the series finished. Sarah gave a great performance as Alison!

In 2012 Sarah took a break from acting because the one thing she vowed she would never become while living in Los Angeles was bitter and you have to admire her for that. In 2013 she started stepping out at events again and even did a reading of Surfer Girl.

In 2014 Sarah returned to TV in a role on NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura! Sarah is a great actress and I can’t wait to see what she does next! 🙂
